# Install the extension

Download S+M VoIP for EspoCRM from your S+M account, install it in EspoCRM, and the steps right after.

## Get the package

Start a free trial or subscribe in your S+M account (see [License and trial](https://docs.sapiensandmachines.com/en/espocrm-voip/license-and-trial)). The extension's
versions are then under **Products & licenses → Downloads**, each with its release notes.

## Install

:::steps
1. In EspoCRM, open **Administration → Extensions**, choose **Upload**, pick the zip file and choose **Install**.
2. Check **Administration → Settings → Site URL**: it must be the CRM's public `https://` address.
3. Open **Administration → S+M EspoCRM VOIP → Licence**, paste your license key and save.
4. Connect your phone system: [3CX](https://docs.sapiensandmachines.com/en/espocrm-voip/connect-3cx) or [Twilio](https://docs.sapiensandmachines.com/en/espocrm-voip/connect-twilio), and Twilio for texts.
5. With the Layout Manager, add **SIP Username** (Twilio) or **3CX Extension** (3CX) to the User detail layout, then
   fill it in for each person who makes or takes calls. Only administrators can change these fields.
:::

People without a SIP Username or 3CX Extension get no pop-ups, no Calls list and no Call button.

> [!TIP]
> Optional: add **Phone Number (VoIP)** to the Call detail layout to see which number a call came in on.

## The extension's administration pages

Under **Administration → S+M EspoCRM VOIP**:

| Page | For |
|---|---|
| **Licence** | The license key and its status. |
| **Twilio Numbers** | Your Twilio numbers, who may text from each, and who is alerted. |
| **Twilio Settings** | The Twilio connection. |
| **3CX Settings** | The 3CX connection. |
| **3CX Template** | The file to upload in 3CX. |
| **3CX Lookup Test** | Checks what 3CX sends and finds. |

## Upgrade

Install the new version's zip over the old one: each zip contains everything, and settings and data are kept.

> [!NOTE]
> If the Extensions list also shows an old **S+M VoIP 0.1.0** entry, uninstall that entry, then install the current
> zip again.

## Uninstall

**Administration → Extensions → Uninstall**. The extension's scheduled jobs are removed with it.
