# License and trial

Start a free trial or subscribe, enter the license key in EspoCRM, and what happens when it expires.

S+M VoIP for EspoCRM needs a license key for your CRM's address. Until one is entered, calls and texts that come in
are still saved, but nothing can be sent or dialed.

## Get a key

1. In EspoCRM, open **Administration → S+M EspoCRM VOIP → Licence** and note the address under **This CRM**: the key
   works only for that address (the host of **Site URL**, without `www.`).
2. In your [S+M account](https://my.sapiensandmachines.com), go to **Products & licenses** and choose **Start free
   trial** for this address, or **Subscribe**.
3. Choose **Show key** next to the license and **Copy** it.

The free trial lasts 30 days and needs no card: one per company and address. See also

## Enter the key

Paste it in **Licence key** on the Licence page and save. The page shows the status: **Free trial** with the days
left, **Active**, or **Subscription ended**. To take a key off, use **Remove key**.

## Renewals

With **Renewal: Renews automatically**, the extension checks with S+M once a day and picks up the new key by itself.
When you subscribe after a trial, the paid key arrives the same way: there is nothing to paste again.

## When it expires

- 7 days before the end, administrators see a reminder bar in EspoCRM.
- After the expiry date, everything keeps working for 14 more days.
- Then sending texts, the **Call** button, the browser phone and the pop-ups turn off. Incoming calls and texts are
  still saved and logged, so nothing is lost.
- Entering a valid key turns everything back on straight away.

## Moving to another address

If the CRM moves to a new address, move the license in your S+M account (**Move to another address**), then paste
the new key here.
